We have not yet met, but I'm Dr. Beverly Crusher, on the SS Blue Fish, and I just had a conversation with one of your friends, Ramse, who alerted me to your special nutritional needs. I would like to provide assistance, but I would need to see you for a quick medical examination, as soon as possible, if you can.
[ It's the most properly constructed letter he's ever gotten, and for a while Sascha just reads and rereads it with a blink. If she knows Ramse she obviously can't be that bad, but he's never actually met a doctor before.
[ A collection of audio files was sent to Sascha's comms. It's spoken folk stories he recorded from the Acorn Hugging commune.
There are stories about the hard working slugs that traversed from the Forest to the Water, legends of how the planet came to be (again, something about slugs and slime trail across the galaxy - he didn't question it) and how the beasts once roamed all over the planet. There are more wistful stories mixed in; one told of a certain tree watch over generations. Anakin tells one himself, reading from a parchment. His story is about a dinosaur that terrorized a village, how the village banded together to hunt it down to protect their own, only to find that it was the last of its kind.
[ once they square him away on discovery one, get him everything they can to make the lecture hall as comfortable as possible and put all their defenses in place, winn decides it's time he reached out. not in person - that's too risky - and not by any feature that would alert this sascha-who-isn't-sascha of his emotional state to avoid riling him up again. so he texts. ]
thank you for protecting me. how's the arm? do you need anything else?
[ he doesn't answer his communicator right away--doesn't want to, actually, because unlike Sascha he has no desire to blind or otherwise give himself migraines simply to indulge in some socialization.
But it beeps with the message, and then keeps beeping because Sascha set it to be as disruptive as possible so he'd never miss a message. So he has to grab it and pull it out eventually with a sigh, flipping it open as he pulls his UV shades over his eyes, aaand...Oh. Winn.
He pauses.
Then calls back, because adoration for Winn or not he still doesn't want a headache. And whether he picks up or goes to voicemail, the first thing he says is: ]
You're welcome. [ A pause. ] I'm surprise you noticed that is what I was doing.
[ he hesitates at the call, but picks up nonetheless. feeling the security of distance now, there's no fear in his voice - just sadness, and an ever present hope that things can get better. ]
Not a lot of explanations to self harm in that sort of situation. I'm sorry you had to resort to that.
[ *Bigby's door, because even if Sascha technically has both a bunk and an off (being the personnel support and all), he is in neither of those locations. The moment he was allowed to come back to the Bloodsport he's been hiding there, buried under the wolf's mountain of pillows.
When the knock comes of course he jolts a bit and sits up straight. Bigby isn't there right now and he's really, really hoping that they're here to see the Fable. ]
B....Bigby's not here right now! [ He calls, awkward. So please go away ): ]
[Winn doesn't know where she is. Or more specifically he doesn't know that she's headed for the Bloodsport. She doesn't think he'd be okay with that and she needs to do it and would rather beg forgiveness than ask permission. She didn't tell him last time when it was all of Sascha and everything that came before him. That one can just stay a secret, but this one she'll bring up when she gets back.
She looks through the ship, trying to find Sascha and phasing her head into rooms when she comes upon them. Hopefully she finds him soon before she's considered a menace to privacy.
She's feeling a little nervous. She said some pretty harsh things last time she saw "him". The fact that he hasn't tried to contact her makes her think he probably does remember all of it.]
[ He doesn't remember everything with certain clarity, but he remembers enough to hide himself away from everyone as best he can, staying in Bigby's room even when the Fable goes out for his usual romps. Sascha hasn't done any of his usual check-ups, hasn't even left the ship since he was allowed back on it. And when Kitty start poking around she'll find him exactly where Kara did earlier, sitting amidst a pile of pillows, one clutched to his chest as he fiddles with his communicator--which is dictating children's stories thanks to the gift Anakin gave him.
[She melts through the wall completely, watching him for a moment and listening to the story play. He's so different like this. It makes her wonder why it took any time at all to click that it wasn't him before.]
[Kurt waits a few days after he'd heard Sascha was released to seek him out. After several mornings without seeing hide nor hair of him, Kurt mans up and makes his way to the Bloodsport--and, remembering the wolf's comments about Sascha sleeping in the den, the room he's told is Bigby's.
He knocks lightly and quickly, before he loses his nerve.]
[ To be fair Sascha couldn't have visited even if the wanted to; the Windrose is locked and denies him entry now. But then of there's also the slight issue being that Sascha has voluntarily grounded himself in Bigby's room and refuses to come out if he can help it.
So when Kurt knocks he doesn't open the door, but instead blinks from where he's flopped on the pile of pillows. And then slowly, cautiously pushes himself up. ]
B...Bigby isn't here right now, come back later...!
I'm not here for him, I'm here for you. [Kurt grimaces as soon as the words are out of his mouth. In a softer tone, he tries again.] May I come in, Sascha?
[ everything's just been feeling like way too much lately, but little by little, winn has been picking up the pieces of his life. he's been leaving the tourist, resumed his search for an exit, jim woke up, and whatever else is happening with the x-men - at least they're awake now too. that leaves one thing to try and patch together again. he knows kitty's been seeing sascha. he's not quite ready for that step but, maybe a call. he makes it a voice call both to spare sascha the glare of comm and to spare himself the need to control his face.
he's not sure what exactly he's going to say here, nor what he wants to say, but for now, he opens with a friendly enough greeting. ]
Hi Sascha. It's - Winn. [ he adds after a moment. he knows not everything is quite in place in sascha's head and while there is a caller id and he thinks he should still recognize his voice even if he doesn't look before he answers - better safe than sorry, right? ]
[ Always better safe than sorry, it's true. But in this case Winn's voice is one Sascha will never forget; not before he'd remembered everything, and not now after he's lost it. It's seared into his mind, and when he picks up his phone to answer and hears him he actually drops his communicator with a loud clatter as it hits the floor.
There's no way Winn would call him. Not after what he did--right....? ]
[He wanted to talk to him again, make sure he was doing better. Make sure he knew he still had a friend in Anders, no matter what other complications there were.
He didn't ask if Sascha was okay, he doubted the answer was yes and he doubted even more that he would hear the truth. Sascha was too much like how Anders used to be.]
[ It's a very good bet; Sascha feels better for sure, but he's not okay and he certainly hasn't been up o his usual antics. He's actually sequestered himsel and drawn off from everyone but Bigby and those that choose to visit him. In fact: ]
Um...I'm on the Bloodsport. How come? [ He's still in Bigby's room. ]
